And what happens if someone drasticlly alters their homenode? There is no way to associate the current contents with the current reputation. Granted, that's true for regular posts as well, but people usually flag changes with "Update:" type text or reply to the original node. Also, would we allow people to vote once a year? Otherwise, maybe I downvoted someone 7 years ago but now wish to upvote their homenode now or vice versa.
The only reason I can think of to allow this is so we can upvote paco's page. LOL!! Maybe that's reason enough! :-)
Update: Would there be any benefit for showing the hit count for homenodes? Wouldn't this be the equivalent (i.e. useful homenodes in theory are visited more often)?
