this has nothing to do with perl but i am really stuck with it. i have to connect to my sql and insert a recored from a shell script... the command which i am using is 
echo "insert into table (column1) values('value1');" |mysql --user=use
+r1 --password=pass --database=dbname

but i am getting an error that mysql not found: need help badly. sorry for the deviation tho..... - thank you
