There is nothing imaginary about calling git, or source control, or "patches" (which implies knowledge of diff ) a barrier. This barrier might be negligible for a seasoned developer, but it is massive for a user. And, even the seasoned developer will find the time spent using the majority of these tools prohibitive. Perl has a huge audience that is system admins, and a huge audience that will never use diff/git/svn/cvs or any other method you impose. You can make the same argument about wiki* requiring the use of a web browser, but elderly grandmas can use it.

BTW, good, ad hominem, I'm not saying anything of my actions, I am saying that so long is there is one person who can kline/ban and no democratic process to appeal you lose the better governance that wikibooks offers. As for me, exclusion from the community is kind of a long shot - just IRC my preferred medium. I'm still active on your mailing lists, publishing Moose modules, and editing wikibooks.

As for my content, it is free!!! Take it, please, I believe it will better the users of your "central/official" docs, and I'm unilaterally and unconditionally giving it away. If there is no "barrier", and I'm making it up, then the reason why it hasn't been included is nonexistent.
