I am wanting to embed the CGI script into this XML data file and display it within the FLASH page.

If I'm understanding correctly, the way to do this entirely depends on how the Flash program (the .swf) is written...   In other words, we'd need to see the Flash source — OTOH, as this is primarily a Perl site, I suppose asking on a Flash discussion forum instead might yield better results... :)
