You haven't shown your code so I can only guess what you might be doing with Sys::Syslog.

My guess is that you are calling syslog with three or more arguments and the second one contains percent characters ('%'). In fact, given the error message, the second argument probably has "%\015" in it.

Have a look at Sys::Syslog.
