Based on a previous thread on
chaining nodes, one possible solution to be able to trace discusssions may be to enable a
Super Search options for "Links To". The search string would be limited to a node number (as it only makes sense in this fashion); not only would the node number be looked for, but the node title could be determined and used as search terms in the same search.
Extending this a bit more, you can have a link for each node that invokes this search, called "Find References".
This way, backwards-chaining of nodes can be done by node authors without problem, while forward chaining would be weakily implemented by this mechanism. The changes would require minimal SQL setting up and a tiny bit of HTML change, but again, Fearless Leader is a busy man...
