I observed several different browsers get in "moods"
Hm. Okay, but I still think something changed.
I've been in the habit of using this mode of operation -- view RAT; step into posts of interest, possibly posting a reply and then back to RAT; rinse & repeat until I've looked at all the threads of interest in the current batch; then click "I've checked all these" to dispose of that batch and see what else has been posted in the interim -- ever since demerphq first put RAT together.
So that is several years and dozen or so versions of my browser. It has never had this 'mood' before that I recall, and I'm pretty sure I would recall it.
But later tonight I will flush the caches, shut the browser down and shutdown (rather than standby) my system and see if it is in a better mood when I wake :)
