I am working on a project and I need to develop a perl program that can be embedded in pipeline pilot (http://accelrys.com/products/pipeline-pilot/ ) and is used for reading cif (mmcif) files (http://www.rcsb.org/pdb/static.do?p=file_formats/mmcif/index.html). So, technically, I just need to make a perl script that can read .cif file, which contains the structural information about a molecule. Can someone help me? I am not a perl programmer, so don't know how to do it. Please help.
