Re: How to handle broken tars ?

I think the best method is to have people upload to one directory, and when the upload completes, move the tar to another directory. I believe PAUSE/CPAN does something like this, so maybe you can find out how they do it

Well, you might try to untar it, and on error assume the upload isn't completed. (Skimming the Archive::Tar docs doesn't show a seperate "test this archive" method.) Joost. "What should it profit a man, if he should win a flame war, yet lose his cool?"	[reply]

I did not see your post in time. I was also searching in Arch::Tar for testing the archive , but no success unfortunatly. I wish my perl knowlege was higher at the moment :(	[reply]
