I don't care about the node type. I do care about the node id and the existence of the link itself, for two reasons:

1. Safe reloading, bookmarking, and being able to safely get an actual URL for the node, irrespective of what you've been doing, be it voting, a consideration, or talk in the CB
2. Having a handy way to copy the node id to link to in nodes and in the CB.

I do not think the link actually should have to be that "loud". It might blend in more with the other links you mentioned: "print, w/replies, xml". Perhaps "plain"? As in:

plain, print, w/ replies, xml

?
