The whole issue of being an NT person is part of the greater 'holy war' of the OSes..
Thankfully, everyone I've seen on here so far subscribes to the "What is, is.." philosophy. NT is there, and it's a tool, in the same way that Perl is a tool
It seems to be perceived as not 'which is the best', for various flavours of 'best' such as philosophical, ethical, performance etc., but 'what can we make it do?'..
The Monastery often reminds me of a project I once saw, where a couple of guys put a huge engine in the back of a compact car, giving it the performance of one of the supercars.. You give a Monk any OS, and they'll make it do wonders, with the right programming tools.
Your post begs the question, "Do you really need to know who the NT gurus are"?
The advantage of this forum is that you post a question. Maybe OS specific, maybe not.
If it is OS specific, then, only the people that know the solutions will get round to spending the time to give you a solution, as the rest will be pondering some other problem that is more apt to their skills and knowledge.
I don't know how many others I speak for, but I'm pretty much OS neutral. I've worked on a variety of systems, and feel pretty comfy with them (apart from VMS, which I considered my time using similar to being beaten to insensibility with a feather duster).
Still, if people like it, go for it... :)
