I've been repeatedly frustrated trying to find the list of mailing lists at perl.com and related web sites. It always boiled down to memorizing the one, often obscure place that offered a link to it and then performing the rather lengthy digging required to find it again whenever that changed. I haven't tried in a while but it wouldn't surprise me if it is still easy to get frustrated trying to find it.

And before merlyn yells at me for complaining, I actually did offer patches to perl.com related to this (more specifically related to linking to p5p and the summaries of it) and the patches were refused (quite nicely by the volunteer I dealt with) due to restriction imposed by the site owner.

Should anyone take the time to look in the back of the latest edition of the Perl pocket reference you would see something like http://lists.perl.org/ which will be on line by this weekend with over 100 different Perl and Perl-related mailing lists. It's been a bit behind schedule as you may have noticed that it's a lot of work to collect all these bloody things.

And the lists aren't that hard to find on perl.com as you just need to click on the list box at the top right hand side of the page and select 'lists' though there aren't many listed.

I have... it's called "use perl.org instead of perl.com". perl.org is for the people. perl.com is an advertising platform and self-promotion for the principle owners. That's not to say it's not useful, but rememeber the context of everything published there.

That's very odd. One of those first google hits is back to perl.com, showing the mailing lists, yet the search box at perl.com doesn't find it.

Says a lot about the way perl.com is (dis)organized.
