Nice timing. I interviewed for a new job last week. I was hesitant about even applying for the job b/c the title is Senior Software Developer and I could only think in terms of "...But I know so many better hackers." Then I realized most of them are found here and generally have everyone else's back; whether it's a design choice, a twisty regex, or B:: space boogeyman.

I don't think I've ever asked a work related question here but the mere fact that I could and that I'd probably get 3 right answers within the hour made me really quite confident about trying for, and taking, the job. I started today.

So I echo lvanhout's general thanks and add my own. I know how valuable and important this site is both for personal and professional development. To any Monk who answered a question of mine or wrote one of the many books on my desk, I will gladly buy you lunch if you /msg me the next time you're in Seattle.
