Given that jptxs was talking about burning company lunch monies, I suspect he's talking about very temporary moves (aka business trips). It'd definitely be a PITA to change your homenode every time you went on a trip. Not for me, since I don't get to go on such trips, but maybe for him.

    you're right on the money. these are very temp movements and, since what I'm looking to do is push not pull, the home node is not the best idea. I can't expect everymonk to be checking my homenode, but I could easily see a monk checking the newest nodes and seeing jptxs+SF-CA and thinking, "wow, jptxs is in Cali, maybe I can spounge some lunch off of him" : )

      Ok, so just to make clear that I got you right, you assume simply displaying an small adittional string to your nick while you are seen in the Other_Users and the ChatterBox nodelets ? Well if you set that string when you log on it shouldn't be a problem :-) IMHO.
