I think the DNS servers that have perl.com are off-line or inaccessible at the moment:

    # dig perl.com any ; <<>> DiG 9.2.3rc2 <<>> perl.com any ;; global options: printcmd ;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached # whois perl.com ... Domain servers in listed order: NS.SONGLINE.COM 208.201.239.31 NS2.XOR.COM 192.225.43.209 NS1.SONIC.NET 208.201.224.11 # ping 208.201.239.31 PING 208.201.239.31 (208.201.239.31) 56(84) bytes of data. --- 208.201.239.31 ping statistics --- 7 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 6010ms # ping 192.225.43.209 PING 192.225.43.209 (192.225.43.209) 56(84) bytes of data. --- 192.225.43.209 ping statistics --- 10 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 9015ms ]# ping 208.201.224.11 PING 208.201.224.11 (208.201.224.11) 56(84) bytes of data. --- 208.201.224.11 ping statistics --- 9 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 8010ms

It's back up now. I find it odd that three DNS servers (including a sonic.net server!) would have been offline at exactly the same time. Kinda disturbing, actually ...

Perhaps in their mad rush to add the latest python, php, or java story to perl.com, they accidentally brought things down.
Re: www.perl.com not found.. go to perl.org

That would work, if perl.org actually mirrored all the articles that perl.com has.

And, what's wrong with python articles on an O'Reilly megasite? What's wrong with perl.com linking to onlamp.com? Not everyone is a PurePerl developer ...

        Google cache?

        What's wrong with perl.com linking to onlamp.com?

I have a problem with the "official Perl homepage" displaying articles about other languages near the top of the page.

Have you ever seen articles about Perl on php.net and python.org? I don't think so.
