in reply to LWP & HTTPS with ActivePerl

You didn't use "Super Search", did you? I searched on "SSLeay windows" and there were several good hits.

In problem installing Crypt::SSLeay from a month ago there were some hints, including

Gmail got me to Mail-Webmail-Gmail which got me to README.WINDOWS which is a procedure written up a couple months ago. Maybe it might help.
plus tachyon pointing out another possible repository.

And then there was Windows module problem in April, where PodMaster was helpful.

And then there was Re: Authentification with LWP also in April where inman was helpful.

And then there was crypt:ssleay and activestate also from December 2003 where bart was helpful.

And then there was Crypt::SSLeay problems on Win32 also from November 2003 where BrowserUk was very helpful.

And then there was Re: Post to SSL Site also from December 2003 where iburrell was helpful.

So by not using Super Search you've declined the help of at least 7 people who really did want to help you, giving you answers before you knew you needed them.

Sorry, I used the mild-mannered, alter-ego search. And I never seem to enter the correct terms. This will help a lot, thanks.
As I had to admit on the Chatterbox, I also often take the long road around while searching, before somehow getting back on track to answering the original question.

What is really strange is that questions as posted often have exactly the search keywords needed, when the problem is described well. Perhaps this is just another example of how talking out the question gets you to the answer?
