Prior to the meeting, I was somewhat dreading Perl6 but not any longer!

Patrick did a wonderful job and made this an extremely enjoyable presentation. His overview of Perl6 (including the history and architecture) was very brief yet informative.

The real meat of the talk came when he started comparing and contrasting Perl5 with Perl6. Did you know that the Perl6 compiler is being written in Perl6 grammars (which are made up of rules that are defined using Perl6 regular expressions)? Very cool! BTW, I didn't know that but I haven't followed the Apocolypses, Exegeneses and such either.

Patrick has promised further talks on Perl6 in the near future. (Regular expressions will probably be the next talk.)
