In this case I beleive you need to install installer (instmsi.exe) so your system will be able to deal with MSI files from now on....

I have the instmsi.exe installed, and the msi for ActivePerl went in fine. The installer program just would say "can't install" when trying to install the Zinc.msi. It just confirms my belief that msi and rpm's cause more problems than they are worth. I prefer tgz and zip files. :-)

update your OS. That OS is almost 7yrs old
After being ripped off by Microsoft Software over the years, I have vowed to not pay more than $5 for any Micrsosoft OS. When Window's XP is on ebay, for $5, maybe I'll grab a cd. :-)
