in thread code without newline doesn't wrap

I just turned it off. No change to this thread. Yes, firefox/mozilla is broken. Given that this is something they've known about for years and years, what is the likelihood of us getting them to fix it? More likely to get PM to change behaviour somehow. (And even then, with your exasperation, it seems that even that is unlikely.)

    *sigh*

As I said, non-auto code wrapping makes no sense for within-paragraph code tags. bart has misused within-paragraph code tags.

My node was addressing multiple issues.

We don't need to fix it. Code wrapping works in Moz just fine. "Auto" code wrapping was designed around soft hyphens. I know of no way to immitate soft hyphens in a browser that doesn't support soft hyphens.

But "auto" code wrapping is not a required feature. If you insist on using a browser that doesn't support soft hyphens, then either stop using the optional feature that depends on soft hyphens or stop complaining when it doesn't work.

If you want progress in "fixing" this, then demonstrate you actually understand this and propose how you'd fix it.

More likely to get PM to change behaviour somehow.

Probably even more likely than to get you to change behavior somehow. ;)
