nmerriweather has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I need to create some messageboard style functionality.

While it is obvious from previous discussions that HTML::TokeParse is what I should utilize to strip html tags out of 'postings', I have no idea how to integrate messageboard style markup

ie: allowing B or I tags (in the style of perlmonks approved html tags), or probably using bracket [] style tools to create 'smart tags'

I know that this is common, and most definately in some module, somewhere, I just can't find that module.

      There are pod2html converters available and itīs not hard to learn.

        if you can count to 10 without using your fingers, yes, thats true i'm not entirely convinced that the average internet user can count to 5 even using their fingers though...
