Strange, I just visited your home node and it says 'Last here: Apr 17, 2005 at 16:11 CEST (4 weeks ago)'

If one pretends not to be here, then the vote fairy thinks there is no way one could have used up one's votes and one doesn't get new votes.

QM needs to stop using a "ticker" login cookie if QM wants to get more votes.

Don't remember reading that in the About the PerlMonks FAQ. Is there any purpose to this behavior? No, every little implementation detail is not spelled out in the site documentation. If you "haven't been here for 4 weeks", then you shouldn't have voted so why would we bother to check whether you had or not. The "ticker" log-in is for fetching tickers (XML data), usually by bots. If you are having bots spend your votes, then you are in volation of site policy. Why would we search through all 30,000 users when the only people needing votes refreshed are among the 500 users who actually showed up yesterday and thus had a chance to spend their votes? - tye	[reply]
