I prefer the solution I noted in Re^2: Considering nodes for re-titling ("search").

Note that the current title search is often more resource intensive than Super Search. But Super Search absolutely refuses to be a resource hog, which is why it will pause after only searching about 10% of the database (depends on system load) if you don't give it any help narrowing down where to search.

Also note that using google to search PerlMonks likely won't work great now that thepen has nearly shut itself down. "We" have done some of the work to make a robot-friendly face for PerlMonks, but have not finished that work. The end of thepen means that this work should be higher priority, but alas, "we" are all just unpaid volunteers with busy lives (and I'm not talking about me, as I've had rather little to do with the fine work that has been done of late on this front).
