After reading this post, I couldn't help trying... got to level 8th so far using only perl (except for a bit in the 5th).

A little comment/question for those who have made it through level 5

Did Python::Serialise::Pickle actually work for you? It wasn't working right for me :( what version have you been using? perhaps another module?
