NMS FormMail and Microsoft

jgamble has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Is NMS FormMail solely for use on Unix systems?

If so, is there an equivalent perl module that can e-mail without exposing the recipient's address for web pages hosted on a Microsoft ME Server system?

(Hmm, I almost wrote "... web pages hosed on a ...")

Of course you probably should have asked this question on the NMS Support List, however yes there is no problem with using the NMS FormMail on a Windows system, a significant proportion of our users are doing so and it has been extensively tested there. The things to watch are You will need to use the `SMTP:` variant of the `$mailprog` configuration. You should ask your administrator or ISP about a suitable SMTP server to use You should see this discussion about the shebang line when using IIS But you'll get our attention better if you send your questions to the mailling list /J\	[reply] [d/l] [select]
