I don't know what an NMS server is, I have no idea what a "discovery engine" is. What I do know is that microperlis not for generic use by the public, it is only intended as a core to build miniperl on, and eventually, a real perl system. XML output? Forget it.

What is more reasonable to expect, is getting away with something like Tinyperl, which is as small as is practically feasable, or something put together using perl2exe, PerlApp, or PAR.

What is not reasonable, is stating upfront that "it must work with microperl".
