Win32::AdvNotify

jrdepriest has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I have been looking for this module as it seems to fit some of my needs.
But I am only finding references that you can't get it anywhere and those are 3 years old.

I was hoping that in that time, someone was able to get the module back online.

Is there anywhere that I can legally obtain it?

jrdepriest, As far as I can tell the author of the module has not been active for some years. From a brief description I have found it would seem that Win32::ChangeNotify may be able to do some of what the pure unobtainium Win32::AdvNotify did. jdtoronto	[reply]

The binaries are still available at: http://www.geocities.com/floydian_99/Win32-AdvNotify.tar.gz. The source has not ever been available, but if you can work out the Win32::API calls (probably starting with FindFirstChangeNotification), then you could probably write essentially the same thing yourself. (I reckon he has been inactive for about 7 or 8 years.) Is anyone able to confirm that the guy (Amine Moulay Ramdane) is still alive ? Cheers, Rob	[reply]
