Anyway, problem solved and Perl now gets to compete. Yay :-)
Well, not quite. All us rabble rousers did was grant perl the ability to compete, but that still depends upon there being a local to Nurnburg team to do the actual competing. His response goes on:
Now the only question is: Will enough Perl teams actually apply for the contest?
I'd be very happy if you would follow-up the prodding for protest that some have sent over various Perl mailing lists with prodding for participation now...
Me? I'm in Chicago, so I'm right out. It sure would be keen if there's a German contingent out there that would actually float something to compete in this whatsamajigger. It'd be a shame if it turned into some sort of global perl outcry of "We're here! Pay attention to us!" and then nobody showed up for the actual competition.
