When I look at the 'Other Users' list, sometimes I see my own name there. And sometimes I don't. Is this a function of how long ago I last fetched a page from Perlmonks? Or do I have an evil twin here? Or both?

    The list is updated periodically. (Every 30 seconds?) Try again after a little while.

    I'm curious. Did you notice the "As of" footer in that nodelet? Doesn't that explain what you asked about?

    Did you check the site docs? Just follow the "Need Help??" link above the nodelets, search for "Other Users" and follow that link. That'll often get you faster answers to such questions in future.
