I happen to know what Wikipedia is, but it would have been good if you'd included a link to it anyway (or even to a "What is Wikipedia?" page).

I have no idea what a "bot" is on Wikipedia. Why don't you make your references to specific items on Wikipedia into links to those items? It'd also be good if you directly included a short explanation of what "bots" are in this context.

Maybe link to your personal profile (whatever they call it) at Wikipedia.

    I assumed that knowledge of wikipedia's existence would be almost total even within the general population, let alone within the population subset of proficient computer users on this website, it didn't even occur to me that people might not know what it is. I note from the node you provided that there is even special wikipedia-specific markup for use on perlmonks. So a little leeway please but I appreciate what you say.

    Nevertheless, I have updated the post to include this information now.
