Firstly you can install
MP4::Info by typing the following from a command prompt:
ppm install http://trouchelle.com/ppm/MP4-Info.ppd
There is also
MP3::Info (install as above, substituting the module name). Regards the video files section of your question a quick search of
CPAN returns
Video::Info, I have never used this however it may be what you need.
