I just looked at the post in question. At time of writing it has "Reputation: -4 (+13 -17)" meaning that 17 people saw fit to down vote it while 13 up voted it.

I suggest you read The Role of XP in PerlMonks and Voting/Experience System if you have not already done so. Since you can't pay for things with XP why worry about it? Your post is not trollish in anyway, the only reason I can think of why people may have down voted it would be that they do not understand what you mean.

I know that English is not your native tongue, I think that the majority of users here do have English as their first language. Perhaps people feel you could have phrased your question better. I am not sure. I do not believe the subject is taboo.
