goso has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi monks, I'm new to perl, need to write data to SQL Server, trying to install the DBD::ODBC module. Initially, I tried installing it via CPAN, had minor problem of environment variables not being set up, then I tried again after fixing the problem. Below is the message that I got. Can you guide me to a solution? I searched around to no avail. I'm using WinXP, thanks. 'nmake' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. MJEVANS/DBD-ODBC-1.15.tar.gz nmake -- NOT OK

A Thank you to both - Joose and Annonymous :) Yes, I'm using activeperl and I seem to have installed the DBD ok as indicated by the ppm outputs (with last line stating '8 files installed'). I now see DBD-ODBC reflected in my PPM GUI as well as the actual files residing in the said directory. Thank you both again for your help and research. Bow
