perl2008, this is the sure fire way of getting the Anonymous cowards to harrass you even more. You are letting them know that they are aggravating you. The best thing to do is just ignore it....and let the intelligence of the other readers filter out any unwarranted attacks. Of course, having someone say "read the documentation and check the package for known bugs" is not harrasment, but something all new monks are constantly reminded of. (If that is the node you are pissed about).

By the way, many times Anonymous Monks are Monks who are at coffee shops , or whatever, and prefer not to login and reveal their passwords. You should be glad that they even notice your nodes...... when the real harrassment comes, you will receive no replies. :-(

Those are truly golden words. I noticed that many geeks, like myself, have hard time figuring out what is ethically, socially, and emotionally acceptable, what is a norm, and are reacting inadequately in otherwise normal debates. In essence, your message is "grow up", but what also matters is not only the message, but the confident and positive tone you chose. I personally really wish there were more people who would tolerate my inadequacies, and provide guidance, so the process of my own growing up would not be that painful. Thank you again, and a humble ++ for you :)
