Salesforce datetime conversion

slloyd has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I am using WWW::Salesforce to query our SF database. It returns datetime fields in the format "2008-12-03T21:00:05.000Z". Is there a module or subroutine that converts this format to unix time so I can manipulate it with localtime?

That date format is ISO8601. Have a look at DateTime::Format::ISO8601. -- John.	[reply]

More specifically, it's the profile ISO-8601 defined in RFC3339. If you wish to validate the date, DateTime::Format::RFC3339 would be better. If you want to allow other ISO-8601 profiles, DateTime::Format::ISO8601 would be better.	[reply]
