    Interestingly, the link on that page (where it says "O'Reilly & Associates maintain the trademark on the use of camel in association with Perl") is broken.

    This signature was ready by Christmas on Alpha Centauri

      OK, didn't check that. Searched around a little at O'Reilly's and found a Perl Camel FAQ ...

        Thanks for that. But...

        Oooohhh. Not sure if I like that...(my emphasis:)

        O'Reilly has protected the camel image for books and online publications related to the Perl language, and related product and services. The only reason an association exists between camels and the Perl programming language is because we've used a camel image on our Perl-related products.
        Not sure if that was my world view before I read it...
