That just counts the size of the body of the final response of a chain. It doesn't include any of the requests, the headers of any of the responses or the body of any but the last response.

Yea, I was more interested in the raw amount sent and received on the network - including headers and after the encryption if possible.	[reply]

LWP::UserAgent delegates to a LWP::Protocol subclass which delegates to Net::HTTP for HTTP requests and Net::HTTPS for HTTPS. These classes do not provide a method of obtaining the number of bytes sent/received.	[reply]

Why are you saying you wanted to limit the bandwidth going to LWP.? Why not go to deeper Net::PCap, or some c sniffer and watch it.
