CPAN.pm build suffixes

BrowserUk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Is there any official mechanism for suppressing CPAN.pm's use of (base64?) suffixes for its build directories?

No. The suffix is produced by File::Temp and is necessary to prevent that concurrent shell activities disturb each other.	[reply]
