No. The suffix is produced by File::Temp and is necessary to prevent that concurrent shell activities disturb each other.

I thought the whole point of the lock file was to prevent concurrent shell activities? Examine what is said, not who speaks -- Silence betokens consent -- Love the truth but pardon error.
