That is not true. I understand the seriousness of the board here and would not try to waste people's time.
I run a legitimate portal on a dedicated server with a static IPs. I will add an spf record for the domain and will set the return-path/reply-to in the messages. We have about 30,000 subscribers . We need to send monthly news letters etc.
All I need is the right perl module to use instead of sendmail directly, and that I am able to set the right mail headers. I was hoping to save some time. So I am seeking advice from people who know. | [reply] |

Do it, and come back after the record has propagated through the DNS.
Don't send mails from your CGI on your web server, ask your provider/hoster for an existing mail server and let that server handle the mail delivery. The provider's/hoster's mail server usually has a better "reputation", which leads to a reduced number of false spam reports.
