In case you haven't noticed, I am one of the administrators here. There are no "business owners", as this forum has the luxury of not relying on mundane things like "traffic", "pageviews", "page impressions" or "Google ads/pagerank". And yet, this forum is still about Perl, and not about shilling weird scripting languages. So, unless your solution relates to Perl, it's not wanted.

This is a Perl site though it's amazing what a range of topics get discussed here if approached correctly and labeled as off-topic. I don't like your posts but they were easy to ignore before this. I don't like the attitude displayed in this one. I never would have said that before you got huffy about it and I don't think I've downvoted you anywhere yet. If any monks went and posted Perl answers on a Java site or Lisp answers on a .NET site I can only imagine the reaction would be much more harsh. Also–

    1. A naked picture of Vanessa Hudgens would raise traffic 10-fold. Traffic is of no value unless it's relevant. Shamwowbufunge or whatever you always post is irrelevant to seekers of Perl wisdom and you make no attempt to make it relevant or label it off-topic. Plus, this is not a business.
    2. See #1.
    3. I guarantee your view is the minority. I was carrying on till you made it a point to try to boss us, oh, I mean me around.

Trying to cut strangers down to size is a poor hobby.

You said: "I posted a legitimate, concrete solution to a legitimate problem."

    Yes, you are right... mostly.

But this is a perl site, as you may have noticed, so it is considered impolite to answer "use another language" if someone asks here how to do something in perl...

Moreover, as a side note, out there there are many other languages to use, portable languages, with open source licenses, and supported by a user base of more than two people.

Update: corrected a typo, thanks jenda.

Rule One: "Do not act incautiously when confronting a little bald wrinkly smiling man."
