I think that point was that the OP came across a page that had no representation for Perl. What good is our advocacy really doing if none of us are being mindful enough ensure Perl is being properly represented at such places? How many people looked at that page and missed out on a chance to choose Perl?

    That's a fair interpretation. I would have made that clear in the root thread and I also would have used different wording because "against", for me, has negative connotations.

    Perhaps:
    I feel like perl is under represented in a number of places where other languages are dominating. What places do you know need more attention and what are you doing to help so I can pitch in to.

    I am sorry if that's what was meant and I interpreted it the wrong way but there wasn't much context for me to guess.

      I find not having Perl represented at such places a negative connotation. That's the point.
