hart has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Greetings,

I working with a rather large, complex XML Schema and XML::Pastor.

I have successfully installed the module and have managed to get it working on rudimentary structures, but whenever I try anything more complicated (nested complex types, etc), I get stuck/lost.

So I am looking for some one-on-one chat time with anyone who has experience using XML::Pastor, specifically to generate XML dynamically from complex Schema using Perl (as opposed to parsing or validating existing XML).

Please get in touch if you feel you can help!

PS I can't post the Schema online publicly which is why I haven't gone into great depth here.

Regards,

Leigh

    Welcome to PerlMonks!

Part of the philosophy here at Perl Monks is the idea of creating a resource that people other than the original questioner can learn from. Many monks are willing to forgo compensation for their expertise because of the joy they get in providing an answer that becomes part of a permanent resource. That joy isn't going to happen with a private one on one chat. Some monks on principle will refuse such a request. Others will politely tell you they have a billing rate.

I quite understand not wanting to share sensitive data on line. If privacy is an issue, substitute nonsense words or letters or numbers for the real element names and data. If size is an issue, try to shrink removing as much as you can from it until you have a skeleton set of schema and data that still demonstrates the difficulties you are having. The act of doing that might well shed some light on the difficulties your are having. You may even be able to answer your own question. But if not, you are more likely to get help if you post a stripped down version of the issues that we can all discuss, rather than asking for private help.

    Best, beth

How does it compare to sample schemas? Maybe you can use the samples to craft an equally complicated schema, so that you can discuss this publically.
