Kamil has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hello I am a complete squicky clean newbi to Perl. I'd like to develope web applications with Perl. I couldn't find answers to my questions in faq so i am asking here. My OS is Win XP SP3, no C compiler. What should i download in order to start? I've heard about xampp, is this the thing? Is there a Perl Developement Environment where one can visually design a web application? Visually meaning that i can see and test a form as it would appear in the user's browser window. The tutorials section has a Web Programming section and a CGI Programming section. I'd suggest starting with Ovid's CGI Course to begin with. Setting up Perl/CGI with Windows would also be worth while regarding the setup of Perl and a Web server. Martin	[reply]

If only I'd had the bottle/wit/intelligence etc. to ask the same question (as the OP) when I was tasked with producing an IIS i.e. M$, website - this i.e. martos, answer would have been invaluable!! Sits back to contemplate the benefits of 20/20 hindsight... Update: Added ref. (to martos answer) for clarity A user level that continues to overstate my experience :-))	[reply]
