sman has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hello, I just uploaded a new version of my module,
App-Cinema-1.12.tar.gz to PAUSE. But I can only see its older version via :

http://cpan.uwinnipeg.ca/~sman
http://search.cpan.org/~sman/

Does that mean the new version link will come out automatically later on?

It takes a while for all the CPAN mirrors in the world to update themselves. Most of them only sync with the master once or a few times a day. The CPAN infrastructure is based on mirrors pulling - there's no push strategy.

I'd wait at least 48h before I would even think of complaining.

If your upload was successful, your webpage on CPAN wil automatically be updated to reflect the new 1.12 version, at App::Cinema, for example. Be patient.

Make sure you keep an eye out for email notices of progress.

Other places to look, when you are logged in to your PAUSE account, are the "Show my files" and "Tail Daemon Logfile" links.

sman, would you mind telling us what App::Cinema does? I haven't had any luck installing it yet and there's no hints that I can see browsing the source.
Hi Cody, Thanks for your interest. It's a demo website I use to practice Catalyst framework. I will add some document on it later on. What kind of error messages you got?

Usually, while your module is in http://pause.perl.org/incoming/, it has not been archived/mirrored yet. PAUSE will send you status emails with links to log files and whatnot ... this might be an option you have to turn off (i can't remember exactly).
      Hi guys,

You rock. I can see the latest version (V1.12) now. But my old version (V1.11) was gone. Is it normal?
