3. yes, but its with the GUI (you need pidgin with GUI when using purple, gtk2). Iam in need to run it without a GUI for perl.

Pidgin is the gui, Purple is the backend

yes but purple is not work standalone (without gui pidgin) and finch (console edition from pidgin) is not work on win32.	[reply]

yes, purple will work without gui pidgin. It might require more effort on your part, but it will work	[reply]

yes, with finch i can get it to run without the pidgin GUI using the (lib) purple but not natively under win32 because of the missing ncurses library. For win32 there is only cygwin an iam kinda clueless how i can try that when there is no option to compile it natively. Can libpurple be used without pidgin or finch because i didnt saw any options for this ?	[reply]
