Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I have a number of apps built with perl/Tk. Recently I updated to RH7.1. Now these apps do not resize when dynamicly adding widgets when using gnome, kde, Enlightenment, etc. They do resize properly with twm or if just called from xinit. The question is does any monk have an idea as to the fix/workaround? Does anyone have an explanation of why this is?

Sounds like a change in window manager behavior, given that it works with twm (instead of what, Sawfish?). Perhaps you can find some window manager configuration that will change this behavior.

You did not include any code, so that will be hard. But you might check your code on $widget->update. It might be that one windowmanager updates more often than another...
