2008 r2 and tk

Tk apparently is in a deep state of abandonment. It compiles on my Linux machines running 5.10 with force (it fails many tests) but doen't seem to compile on 5.12 anyway. Maybe you could use Tcl::Tk instead?	[reply]

Here's the CPAN Testers Matrix for Tk v804.029 (which is the latest distribution released on 27-May-2010). As you can see, it compiles on a number of platforms (including Linux) using 5.12.x versions of Perl - you'll also see that it's had many problems. I have that version of Tk running on Windows XP and Cygwin both using Perl 5.12.0. As something of a minor disclaimer: I'm not advocating its use over other GUI toolkits nor am I claiming I had no problems with the installation process. -- Ken	[reply]

Thanks for the replies. I am not feeling confident this is going to work. But doing as I am told.. Thank you, I stand corrected. I threw up the towel on Tk quite a while ago because of these problems and didn't keep up with the latest news :)	[reply]

Somebody may have exactly these components but, if not, you possibly won't get a response. A better option is to also show the output from `dmake install` (including details of the platform, versions and so on is good - I'm not suggesting leaving them out). By doing this you may get a reply along the lines of "I had a similar problem with XXX - here's how I fixed it." -- Ken	[reply] [d/l]
