Perl & Ajax display process output

Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Oh wise ones....

Could you please point me at an example or perhaps explain how to accomplish the following:

I want to display a simple webpage with a scrollable text window and a button, which upon being clicked would execute a serverside process and the output of that process would be dynamically displayed in the scrollable text window.

Any pointers or links would be great as I'm having a tough time finding any examples that relate.

Here's a basic working example to play with: CGI/Ajax example: lookup a value when a field is filled in. For a scrollable/dynamic pane (without the heartbreak of frames) you probably want to look for docs on CSS overflow. Come back with code you've tried if you get stuck.	[reply]
