The thing that's debatable about the array example is whether anything like that should ever appear anywhere other than an obfu competition. Though ... debatable ... debatable it ain't. It should not!

    I'm not saying that it is elegant code -- though if we put our minds to it, we could probably think of a use. But if it is legal, and it is, then it ought to work consistently.
