fumalaga has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I have DWIM Perl 5.14.2.1 for windows, and would like to update to perl 6. I've downloaded the perl 6 plugin for Padre, but it seems to be for linux and won't install. I've also tried to install rakudo star, but I couldn't get it to install. Any suggestions for what to try?

Perl 6 isn't an update over Perl 5. If you want to write and deploy working software, stick with Perl 5.

Those Perl 6 snapshot releases are for people willing to update at least monthly and to rewrite their code if and when things break.

I'm using Perl 6 for a school project, so long-term stability isn't an issue for me. And I know that Perl 6 isn't an upgrade of Perl 5, I meant upgrade in the sense of updating Padre.

What do you mean?  cpanp -i Padre?
